Better Business Bureaus

Better Business Bureaus (BBBs) are non-profit organizations
sponsored by local businesses. BBBs offer a variety of consumer
services. For example, they can provide consumer education
materials, answer consumer questions, mediate and arbitrate
complaints, and provide general information on companies'
consumer complaint records.

Each BBB has its own policy about reporting information. It might
or might not tell you the nature of the complaints against a
business, but all will tell you if a complaint has been
registered. Many of the BBBs accept written complaints and will
contact a firm on your behalf. BBBs do not judge or rate
individual products or brands, handle complaints concerning the
prices of goods or services, or give legal advice. However, many
bureaus do offer binding arbitration, a form of dispute
resolution, to those who ask for it. If you need help with a
consumer question or complaint, call your local BBB to ask about
its services.

the BBBs in Canada.
